Subway Sandwich is holding a writing contest once again this year. The theme: "Make It Happen! Contest".
Students in grades PreK-8 must write a story about a personal accomplishment that tells how he or she eats healthy, stays active, or limits computer or screen time. Has he or she learned a new sport? Motivated the family to start eating better? What makes this accomplishment special?
Subway Sandwich provides these story starters for inspiration:

Deadline:
The Subway Sandwich contest began March 20, 2009, 12:00 a.m. EDT and all entries must be received by June 30, 2009, 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Who Can Participate:
Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who are currently over the age of 18 and have a child in grades Pre-K - 8.
Rules:
Story maximum word count: 500
Your child must be in Grade Pre-K – 8
Parents can submit only one entry per each child in the household, regardless of method of entry

How to Enter:
To enter the Subway Sandwich Make It Happen! Contest, submit the story created by your child (or created with your help), maximum word count: 500 along with your name, address, daytime phone number, e-mail address, your child's name and grade level. Prizes:
Winners will be chosen based on the creativity and quality of their essay, adherence to the proposed theme, and use of story starters.
One Grand Prize Winner and Six Runners-Up will receive: $5,000 worth of athletic equipment for his or her school, Scholastice Gift Basket, Subway Card, Story published online and in the Scholastic Parent & Child magazine. Six Runners Up receive: Scholastic Gift Basket, Subway Card.
