IF YOU WERE A SANDWICH.....

Here's a silly question, but if it was good enough for Barbara Walters back in 1981 when she posed it to Katherine Hepburn, it's good enough for me. If you were a sandwich, what kind would you be? Barbara asked "Kate the Great" what kind of tree she would be, but we don't do trees here, just sandwiches.

Example ... my friend Piero, an aspiring singer has an "off, off strip" lounge act in Las Vegas called "Beyond The Strip", loosley named after Bobby Darin's hit, "Beyond The Sea". Piero is a decent enough singer, but let's just say he won't be headlining in the Colosseum showroom at Caesar's Palace anytime soon. Never the less, Piero loves his job and devotes much of his time rehearsing new material for the show. He never met a camera or a potential audience member he didn't try to swoon. Cab drivers, waitresses clerks, homeless persons .... you get the picture.

There's no doubt that Piero is a Ham sandwich with triple cheese on toasted white bread, hold the lettuce, it would only distract from Piero who lives to be in the spotlight, or in this case, under the heat lamps atop the grill. Like his act, this ham sandwich should contain the works, the kitchen sink, if you will. Mustard? Sure, why not, Mayo? Heap it on, anything wet would be on that bread. What ever it takes to get a laugh or a little applause, lay it on thick and see what sticks. This is Piero, what about you? What kind of sandwich would you be?
