"The Sammies" Have Spoken!

Another piece of news from accross the pond:

Influential sandwich designer Ms. Nellie Nichols won the British Sandwich Industry Award 2009 (known as "The Sammies") and hosted at the Royal Lancaster Hotel awards dinner last May. Nellie has been honored by the British Sandwich Industry for her creative genius and help in developing the British commercial sandwich market into the £5.4 billion industry. Her brilliant hand and consultative service have aided leading sandwich makers like Pret A. Manger (mentioned in today's post) and Greencore Breadwinner in sandwich design. The Sammies began 14 years ago in acknowledgment of those who have helped to develop the huge industry which employs more than 300,000 people in the UK.
