YE OLD BREAD BOX!

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Isn't that the old adage? Well I dare say, I have never seen a bread box quite like this one. When you think about bread boxes (and you really should) you're likely to ask, how many variations can one expect to see in a bread box, anyway? Apparently, quite a few. This little beauty is appropriately called The Armadillo. Made of brushed aluminium, wood and plastic, the Armadillo looks sharp, sleek and stylish. I'd do it. Available at Freshome.com for around $75.00.

If the idea of an armadillo sitting on your kitchen counter doesn't appeal to you, try one of many styles from Cal-Mil. This one's my favorite. A Tri-Level Acrylic with a wire base and black trays. Measures 7W X 13D X 21H. CalMil is a well known brand in the industry and the name ensures durability of products by using the finest materials in creating their products.
Here's one from The GG Collection. The Barcelona is a great looking counter top solution for rolls, bagels and loaves of bread. Next to the CalMil, I think this one is most elegant look and old world metalwork combination makes it really look beautiful. Find it for Around $180.00 at Frontgate.com 1.888.263.9850

Or go all the way high-tech with The Gnam Bread Box designed by Alessi Design a Stefano Giovannoni design. It's simply a funky bread bin, modern, colorful and shiny eye-catcher with spacious dimensions. Made of sturdy thermoplastic resin. Available in orange or blue. Around $65.00, find it at Lumens.com

  5. Hi Sam, Thanks for wandering through my blog. I think sandwiches are great but bread never lasts long enough in my home to warrant a bread box. We love to eat it too much.

  11. We keep our bred in the fridge. I wheat or flax bread, but the kids and my husband only like white bread.

  14. I sort of like the white one with the pewter colored handle. The handle reminds me of an octopus. The tiered one makes me want to repurpose it and store other things in it.

  19. The armadillo bread box is so funky. I actually keep my bread in the freezer (if I'm not eating it right away) or the refrigerator (if I'm working on that piece of loaf). Sadly, there's no room for a bread box.

  25. I love the Barcelona one. That armadillo is certainly different. I thought it was an old Roman one. LOL.
