Sardine Sandwich?

Did someone say Sardine Sandwich? Yes I know, about 95% of people in the U.S. would pass on a Sardine Sandwich quicker than kudzoo, but wait just a moment. Most folks wouldn't think twice about eating canned tuna, right? So why the aversion to sardines? You'd probably say sardines are fishy and tuna is not, but that 's not always true. If you choose a high-end, high-quality, fresh sardine they are really very mild and not more fishy than canned tuna. If you're not convinced, try ordering them in a fine seafood restaurant. Environmentally conscious chefs accross the country are experimenting with these tiny, sustainable fish while boycotting other less sustainable fish.

Health-wise, sardines are very high in cholesterol lowering fatty amino acids, virtually mercury-free and packed with iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, calcium, copper and vitamin B, vitamin D and ....... they're cheap!

Le Gourou will soon make and post a luscious sardine sandwich recipe. Stay tuned mes amis, Sam
