Pain grillé français bourré par fraise - Strawberry-Stuffed French Toast Sandwich!
8 Slices of your favorite breakfast bread
8 OZ cream cheese, softened
3 Tbls strawberry syrup
1/2 Cup chopped fresh strawberries
1/4 Tsp cinnamon
1/2 Cup heavy cream mixed with 1/2 cup water
2 Packages sugar substitute or 2 Tsp sugar
1 Tsp vanilla extract
1/4 Tsp salt
1 Tbls butter or more if needed
1 Tbls canola oil or more if needed
Heat oven to warm setting. Line a baking sheet with foil, place in oven. In a bowl, mix cream cheese and syrup until blended. Fold in berries and cinnamon. Evenly divide mixture onto bread. Mix cream mixture with eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. Dip bread slices tow at a time into mixture until saturated. Heat 1 Tbls butter and oil in a nonstick skillet. Cook slices 5 to 6 minutes per side or until golden brown.
